Carol makes a decorative full-length mirror at one-fourth the cost of a similar and much smaller piece that she saw in a magazine.
Materials:

piece of wooden moulding - similar in look and size to the wood framing the mirror
paint - Carol used a rusty red-colored acrylic
sandpaper
saw
print of your choice
craft knife
ruler
hot glue
gold leaf
gold leaf adhesive
ZimInk Permanent Decorating Ink
ZimInk Stamp Conditioner and Cleaner
ZimInker Rubber Stamp Pads
winged heart rubber stamp
Steps:
- Cut the piece of wooden moulding wide enough to fit snugly between the two vertical pieces of wood of the frame.
- Sand the ends of the moulding until they are rounded.
- Paint the frame and the moulding.
- Fit the print inside the top portion of the mirror. Use the craft knife and the ruler to trim the print to fit exactly.
- Hot glue the print to this area, and hot glue the moulding along the bottom of the print to make it look as though it were framed inside the mirror.
- Mask off the print to protect it, and apply gold leaf adhesive to the wood to make it tacky.
- To achieve an antique look, apply the gold leaf to the wood in patches and let some of the rusty red color show through.
- Before stamping the heart on the mirror, practice stamping on a scrap piece of mirror until you achieve the desired results.
- Stamp the heart.
- If stamping multiple hearts, re-apply ink on the stamp between each application.
