Use garden faucets to hold coats, umbrellas, garden tools, etc.
Materials:

2" x 4"
black latex paint
aluminum sheet metal strip
electric sander
steel wool
safety glasses
gloves
marking pen
electric drill
upholstery tacks
rubber hammer
garden faucets
copper tooling
sharp scissors or metal snips
permanent spray adhesive
metal spray paint (optional)
long deck screws
strong craft glue

Steps:

  1. Cut 2" x 4" to desired length. Paint it black and let dry.
  2. Clamp sheet metal strip to a table and buff by tapping it lightly with an electric sander or rubbing it vigorously by hand with steel wool.
  3. Attach the sheet metal to the wood. Mark tack positions; pre-drill a hole through the metal and then hammer in upholstery tacks.
  4. Cut copper tooling foil into triangles for faucet backdrops using sharp scissors or metal snips. Note: Do not use fabric scissors as metal will dull them.
  5. Place triangles where the faucets will go. Once satisfied, adhere them to the metal with spray adhesive. Place a brick or weight over the triangles and allow to dry overnight to prevent the edges from curling up.
  6. Spray-paint the faucets as desired or leave them the color they are.
  7. Once dry, place the faucets on the triangles and mark two holes. Pre-drill holes and attach triangles with screws.
  8. Use long deck screws on each end to attach it to the wall. Hide the screws by snipping the head of an upholstery tack and glue it over them.
