Personalize a cabinet by lining the inside with maps or colorful paper.
Lining cabinets or open shelving with maps, sheet music, or any kind of paper artwork gives them a decorative touch.

Materials:

cabinet with shelving or open shelving
various pieces of artwork*
scissors to cut the paper
foam brush
white glue, watered down

*Sheet music, "antique" maps, pictures from a book that have been blown up on a copy machine; whatever you choose.

Steps:

  1. Cut artwork to fit the cabinet. You may either have your papers sized by using a copy machine, or use a patchwork effect.
  2. With the foam brush, spread the glue onto the back of the artwork, and apply pieces, one at a time, to the inside of the cabinet.
  3. Paint the cabinet, if desired, and paper or paint the shelves to match the paper used in other areas of the cabinet.
  4. Smooth the papers with your fingers or with a wooden roller.
