Whether modern or traditional, pottery is back and it's making a statement like never before. With new shapes, colors and textures, today's pottery can be found in any style home.
- A monochromatic palette in solid white or black is often the choice for today 's pottery (figure A).
- Look for pottery to use in the bathroom in the form of beautiful toothbrush holders , soap dishes and tissue boxes.
- Pottery is being used in new and interesting ways. Put glass on top of a huge pot for a table (figure B) or a terra-cotta column for a smaller version.
- Hand-wash glaze ceramics to save them from the high heat and agitation of a dishwasher . Never subject an antique piece to anything beyond room temperature as extremes can crack the pottery and darken stains.
