Clocks are more than functional--they are a design building block when it comes to accessorizing your room with savvy. Interior designer Deborah Burnett, ASID shares ways to incorporate them into the home:

• Use traditional anniversary clocks on end tables to create balance for an oversized lamp. The name refers to when you should wind it.
• Consider using a wall clock propped on a decorative easel in the kitchen for instant charm (figure A).
• A handsome grandfather clock in the den adds instant comfort (figure B).
