Antiqued Clock

Materials:

Walnut Hollow clock pieces
  - round clock, XL - #23026
  - pendulum clock movement - #TQ800P
  - one-inch Roman numerals - #552 -  discontinued, use any desired numerals
  - clock hands - #1006B
  - clock sweep - #1015B
Delta acrylic paints
  - butter cream
  - burnt umber
  - dark burnt umber
  - black
Instant Age varnish
sponge brush, stiff bristle brush, soft bristle brush
wood sealer
sandpaper

Steps:

1. Using a sponge brush, apply wood sealer to the entire clock. Dry. Sand lightly.

2. Using a sponge brush, base-coat the clock with butter cream-colored paint. Dry thoroughly.

3. Using sandpaper or an electric sander, sand the back to reveal raw wood here and there. Lightly sand the Roman numerals.

4. Using a soft bristle brush, apply one coat of Instant Age varnish (figure A).

5. Use a stiff bristle brush to dry brush burnt umber, then dark burnt umber, then black-colored paint to the clock surface here and there (figure B), and to the Roman numerals.

6. Use a soft bristle brush to apply one final coat of Instant Age varnish to the clock and the numerals.

7. Attach the numerals, clock movement and hands (figure C).

Pansy Clock

Materials:

Walnut Hollow clock pieces
  - round clock, XL - #23026
  - pendulum clock movement - #TQ800P
  - Arabic adhesive clock face - #1125 - discontinued use any desired clock face
Plaid acrylic paint
  - white
  - lavendar
  - purple magenta
purple tissue paper
pansy-printed gift bag
dried and pressed pansies
wood sealer
sponge brush
sandpaper
decoupage glue
scissors - regular and decorative

Steps:

1. Using a sponge brush, apply one coat of wood sealer to the entire clock. Dry. Sand lightly.

2. Using a sponge brush, base coat the clock with white-colored paint.

3. Cut the tissue into pieces and crumple with hands. Gently unfold and glue onto clock face (figure D).

4. Paint the adhesive clock face with a wash of lavendar-colored paint (figure E). Spatter it with purple magenta-colored paint. Dry. Position and adhere in place.

5. With decorating scissors, cut the pansies from the pansy-printed gift bag and glue in place around the clock face (figure F).

6. Use decoupage glue to adhere a dried, pressed pansy onto the pendulum movement.

7. Attach the clock movement.

Decorator Clock

Materials:

Walnut Hollow clock pieces
  - round clock - #23026
  - pendulum clock movement - #TQ800P
  - designer paintable hands - #23089
  - one-inch adhesive classic numbers - #511
Delta acrylic paint
  - raw linen  
  - trail tan
wood sealer
sandpaper
sponge brush
sea wool sponge
scraps of decorator fabrics
decoupage glue
scissors

Steps:

1. Use a sponge brush to apply one coat of wood sealer to the entire clock. Dry. Sand lightly.

2. Using a sea wool sponge, apply raw linen-colored paint and trail tan-colored paint to the clock using a wet on wet technique.

3. Cut designs out of the fabric. Use decoupage glue to adhere.

4. Adhere the numbers and attach the clock movement and hands.
