Floral expert Dale Rohman suggests using your seashell collection to create beautiful dried floral arrangements.* Note: If you have collected shells from the beach, the first step is to soak them overnight in equal parts water and bleach to clean them. Make sure they are completely dry before using them for a craft project.
Shell Topiary
Materials:
white floral cone
soft green paint
waxed string
artemesia
hot glue
Steps:
- Paint a white floral cone a soft green.
- Tie waxed string around the circumference of the base, but don't cut it off from the spool.
- Wrap long stems of artemesia all the way up the cone, sticking the base of the stem in the in the cone and wrapping.
