Light-Up Shadowboxes

Add interest, personalization and soft light to a wall by making a shadowbox that glows!
Materials:

scrap wood
wood glue
nail gun
screws
glass pane
black spray paint
etching spray
spray adhesive
photo
Christmas tree lights

Steps:

1. Cut four pieces of wood, mitering the corners if desired, to create a deep, square frame. Cut grooves to hold a glass pane in place. Use wood glue and nails to secure the bottom and two side pieces together.
2. Cover a photograph with spray adhesive and place it face down on a glass pane. Coat the remaining exposed glass edge with etching spray for a frosted look (figure A). Let dry.
3. Paint the frame (including the separate top piece) and let dry. Slide the pane into position, and then attach the top using screws or nails.
4. Arrange the lights inside the perimeter of the frame and plug them in after hanging the image.
