When you need a centerpiece, most of us think of flowers but design expert Stacy Sindlinger has a tastier idea--herbs! Simply fill an old enamel wash basin (or container of your choice) with a layer of clay shards or rocks or drill drainage holes if you've got a saucer large enough to fit under it. Fill with potting soil and then plant with basil, oregano, rosemary, parsley, chives or whatever you use most often. When not in use on the table, be sure to give the herbs adequate sunlight.
