Figure B
Guest Sandi Reinke demonstrates how to create a moss- and rose-covered pot by using natural cloth, dried rose heads, a terra-cotta flower pot and glue. She also shows how to create other botanical pots using the same technique.

Materials:
five-inch diameter terra-cotta flower pot
hot glue gun and glue sticks
moss cloth
70, one-inch dried rose heads heads
scissors

Steps:
  1. Tear or cut the moss cloth into pieces measuring three to four inches wide and two inches longer than the height of the pot.
  2. Using the hot glue gun, glue the moss cloth to terra-cotta pot. Overlap and glue 1-1/2 inches of the moss cloth over the rim (figure A). Be sure to use the hot glue in numerous places to anchor the moss.
  3. Trim off any excess moss cloth from the bottom of the pot.
  4. Clip off the stems from the rose heads, and hot glue the first row of rose heads, starting at the top of the pot rim (figure B).
  5. Add a second and third row of rose heads to both the inside and outside of the initial row.
