This centerpiece is designed for a table where a meal is planned--it's petite so that guests can make eye contact during conversation.

Dale Rohman, "America's Flower Man," shows how to create beautiful centerpieces for dinner parties at a fraction of the price it would cost to buy them. Hydrangea Arrangement
Materials:
fresh hydrangeas
floral foam
simulated silver bowl (available at flower and craft shops)
fresh roses
fresh delphinium
Steps:
- Submerge the hydrangeas in a bowl of cold water--head down--for an hour. This will firm up the petals.
- Once the hydrangeas have drip-dried, give them a 45 degree-angle cut and place them in a deep bucket of warm water overnight. Once this is done, the hydrangeas will be "conditioned" and ready-to-go.
- Soak a block of floral foam until completely saturated, then place in the faux silver bowl.
