Materials:
glass beads (clear, amber, green)
red liner tape
silk magnolia flowers with wire stems
plastic fruit
copper acrylic paint
foam paintbrush
scissors
bowls
Steps:
Beaded Magnolias
1. Trace around each petal to make a paper pattern. Trace paper pattern onto white side of red liner tape sheet and cut each out.
2. Remove paper backing and stick tape to top of petal (trim tape or flower as necessary so they're the same size). Remove top red plastic and dip tip of a petal into amber beads. Then dip remainder into clear beads. Repeat process with each petal .
3. Paint magnolia center copper and let dry.
4. Cover leaves with clear or green glass beads following the same process.
Beaded Fruit
1. Remove stem and leaves from fruit. Cut various triangular shapes out of red liner tape; remove paper backing, and then stick each to the fruit (try not to overlap the pieces). Push wrinkles and folds flat before removing the top red liner from each piece.
2. Push fruit down into clear beads and use your fingers to press them in place to flatten wrinkles/folds. Shake off excess.
3. Paint stems copper and add touches of paint to the leaves for highlights. Let dry and replace in beaded fruit.
