You don't need a green thumb to give your home a fresh, floral flair. Mary Emmerling has some unique ideas for incorporating easy flower arrangements into your home--even if you don't have a green thumb!
  • Some of the most dramatic arrangements are the simplest. Try single white roses in individual vases (figure A).
  • Let an armload of hydrangeas spill over the side of a metal pail (figure B ).
  • Set off the bold color of sunflowers with an earthy terra-cotta jug (figure C).
  • To make flowers last, put them in a mixture of one quart of water, a few drops of bleach and a teaspoon of sugar.
