Framed Design Materials:
purchased pressed flowers or leaves
unfinished wood frame
foam core board
glass cleaner
framing point gun/points
acrylic paint
paintbrush
picture hanger
ribbon
thumbtacks
hammer
Steps:
- Remove glass and backing from frame. Cut a piece of foam core to the size of the glass.
- Arrange flowers or leaves as desired on foam core. Place clean glass on top and set aside.
- Paint frame and let dry. Attach hanger to the back.
- Insert glass, foam core and backing into frame and secure with point gun.
- Attach a length of ribbon to either side of the frame back with thumbtacks, and then tie the ribbon into a bow.
- Hang framed piece from the back of the frame and use a tack to hold the ribbon above.
Dried Flower Serving Tray
Materials:
unfinished wooden serving tray
acrylic paint (lime green and periwinkle blue )
foam brushes
fine sandpaper
cloth
dried flowers
glass cut to fit inside tray
matte spray varnish
Steps:
- Paint inside of tray green and let dry. Paint the outside and top edges periwinkle blue and let dry. Lightly sand piece and remove dust with a cloth.
- Arrange dried flowers on the tray bottom around the edges. Spray inside surface with varnish (this will hold flowers in place).
- Place glass inside tray.
