Recycle cut twigs to make an inexpensive holiday tree.
Materials:

three straight twigs (not dead) and additional twigs (dead wood)
1/2" brads
hammer
flexible wire
wire cutters
spray adhesive
glitter (white and gold)
white t-shirt
silk poinsettia
24-carat gold spray paint
garden shears

Steps:

  1. Cut three support twigs to desired height. Nail brads half way in every four inches along the twigs.
  2. Secure the top with wire around the brads. Use a long piece of wire to wrap around the base brads and up around the tree to form a tripod.
  3. Lay the smaller twigs around the tripod on the wire, starting at the bottom .
  4. Remove poinsettia flowers from the greenery. Use wire to secure the blooms randomly on the tree.
  5. Cover entire tree with spray adhesive and sprinkle with glitter.
  6. Cut slits into t-shirt; tear strips, and then drape them as desired.
  7. Spray entire tree gold.
