Materials:

used books in a variety of sizes
Aleene's Tacky Glue
Design Master spray paint in Antique Gold
Design Master spray paint in Glossy Wood Tone
4" square of floral foam
Spanish moss
floral picks
foam brushes
hot glue gun
wire cutters
decorative accents such as an angel, a hat or a teddy bear
two yards of ribbon (optional)

Steps:
  1. Decide where you will place your finished centerpiece to determine the size you want it to be.
  2. Take two or three of the books and spray the bindings with the Glossy Wood Tone spray paint.
  3. Spray the edges of the pages with the Antique Gold spray paint to give the look of gold leafing.
  4. Stack the books together, then hot glue them together. Open the top book, and use tacky glue to secure it to the other books. Let the glue dry thoroughly.
  5. Hot glue your largest decorative accent to the floral foam then place in the middle of the stack of books.
  6. Next, arrange the Spanish moss to cover the foam. Use a floral pick and glue to hold the moss in place.
  7. Finish the design by using the ribbon to create a bow at the base of the design.
