Materials:
Visions Air Painter
paint: white, royal blue, turquoise, holiday red, lemon yellow
dried limbs or twigs such as wisteria or manzanilla
medium-grit sandpaper
clear glass vase
plywood
terra-cotta planter
Steps:
- Lightly sand the wisteria limbs with medium-grit paper to remove stubble and dirt, then wipe with mineral spirits to remove any dust.
- Prime the branches using the Visions Air Painter and white paint. Cover the lower portion of each twig with royal blue, then turquoise on the tip. Once dry, arrange the colored branches in a clear glass vase. Use small pebbles or glass marbles to hold the twigs in place.
- Manzanilla (burning bush) is already smooth, so no sanding is required. Drill a hole in the bottom of the limb and fit it onto a circular plywood base (to be placed in the terra-cotta planter). 4. After priming the branch white, paint it holiday red at the tips, blending down to lemon yellow at the base.
- "Plant" the bush into the plywood inside the terra-cotta planter and cover with polished river stones to complete the look.
