The Carol Duvall Show cameras visit artisan Judy Mulford to catch a glimpse of her basketwork. Mulford creates delicate, beautiful baskets out of slimy seaweed kelp that she harvests while beachcombing. Mulford clips the leaves away from the washed-up seaweed and drags the vine home to wash it with freshwater. She hangs it to dry in the sun. Once the kelp has dried, Mulford weaves the whimsical creations using a tapestry needle and an old-fashioned loop stitch, then embellishes them with other recycled beach findings.
