Dried Flowers

Carol Duvall Show : Episode CDS-141 -- More Projects »
Carol discusses various methods for drying flowers, including one of the oldest, by hanging the flowers upside down in a dry, dark place. Fresh flowers may also be submerged in a shoe box containing silica gel crystals (marketed under various brand names) and then left for several days to dry.

These days, there are kits on the market that enable the flowers to be dried in a microwave oven, and products that prevent the dried flowers from becoming brittle. Furthermore, some contemporary products are intended solely for drying greenery.

The suggested uses for dried flowers include: earrings, cards, arrangements, packages, hats, picture frames, cards, baskets, potpourri.
