Carole Jackman, the owner of a pressed flower company, combines her blooms with Carol Duvall's crafts as they decorate perfume bottles, drawer pulls, and other items. Jackman explains that this method is very easy in that it only requires a trained eye to arrange the blossoms.
Decorative Bottle Materials:
clean, dry bottle
Elmer's Craft Bond clear-drying adhesives
Pressed Flowers by Nature's Pressed
ribbon to complement colors in flowers and bottle
flat, round-tip tweezers
Blair Spray Clear Acrylic Coating - matte and gloss finishes available
small paint brush
Steps:
- Select pressed flowers and, with tweezers, pre-arrange on bottle as desired. Remove flowers from bottle (figure A).
- Apply glue to backs of flowers--tiny dots in several places, not too much (figure B). Starting with greenery first, apply to bottle as pre-arranged. Use paint brush to apply extra glue under all edges of flowers to tack them down flat. Allow to dry completely.
