Projects designed by Sandi Reinke.

Botanical Ribbon Grid

Materials:

10-foot roll of botanical forest floor ribbon
one pound of Spanish moss
hot glue gun and glue
gilded jute braid

Steps:

  1. Cut botanical forest floor ribbon into 12, 10-inch pieces.
  2. Weave six of the 10-inch pieces (figure A) into a 10" x 10" grid-patterned square and glue into place (figure B). Make two of these grids--one for the top and one for the bottom of the bundle.
  3. Glue a two-inch thick layer of Spanish moss to the bottom grid.
  4. Glue the top grid to the top of the moss.
  5. Tie the jute braid around the bundle and knot. This makes a dramatic highlight to taller arrangements.

Simple Bundle

Materials:
10-foot length of botanical-ribbon moss and gold twigs
12-inch length of botanical-ribbon gilded bay leaf
hot glue and glue gun
scissors

Steps:

Cut 10-foot length of botanical ribbon into 15, eight-inch pieces.

  1. Stack eight-inch strips and wrap with the 12-inch gilded bay leaf ribbon.
  2. Hot glue the gilded bay leaf ribbon to the bottom of the bundle of eight-inch strips. This bundle makes a simple statement when coupled with the more complicated bundles.
