Steps:
- Measure off a one-inch margin on all sides. This will later become the hem for the cloth.
- Miter all four corners.
- Measure off three inches at each of the short ends for the fringe.
- Draw five 5-inch circles randomly on the cloth. Some can hang off the edge
- Use the one-inch flat brush to apply the base coat (Eggshell) to the main part of the cloth. Do not cover circles or fringe area. Let dry.
- Wet the sea sponge and wring out all the water. Drizzle a spiral of Moon Yellow paint on a paper plate. Using an up-and-down motion, pounce the sponge on the paint several times. Now pounce the sponge on the Eggshell area. Let dry.
- Paint five or six wavy lines (Colonial Green) from fringe to fringe using the 1/2-inch angle shader brush. Make each stripe approximately 1-inch wide
- With transfer paper, apply fringe to both ends of the cloth. Use the 1/8-inch angle shader and paint fringe Colonial Green. Let dry.
- With small brown marker, draw fringe lines over the paint.
- Fill in background of fringe with Lamp Black, using size 0 liner brush.
- Draw brown dash lines across each stripe, approximately 1/2-inch apart. Don't try to keep them parallel. Let the edges start and extend beyond the width of the stripe.
- With the 3/4-inch flat brush, paint in the circles with Lilac. While the Lilac is still wet, dab a 1-inch circle of Royal Fuchsia in the center of each circle. With sponge, pounce up and down on the Fuchsia to make it softly blend outward. The center should be darker than the edges. Let dry.
- Outline each circle with the large brown marker. Draw a brown spiral on each circle.
- When completely dry, apply three coats of varnish.
- Fold over hem to back and glue.
