Cover a non-working fireplace with an interesting piece of framed ceiling tin. This would also look nice in front of a fireplace in the summer when it's not in use.
Materials:

ceiling tile
2" x 2" redwood
hammer
drill or screwdriver
saw
finishing nail
hammer
tape measure
miter box
screws

Steps:

1. Build the support frame out of redwood as follows: cut two short pieces for the top and bottom and two longer pieces for the sides according to the tile dimensions (extend the longer pieces to serve as legs for the screen). Screw the pieces together.

2. Set the tile onto the frame and nail it in place. Flatten the metal along the edge of the tile with a hammer so the molding will be flat.

3. Place the molding on the tile and secure it with finishing nails.

4. Cut two pieces of redwood into two-foot lengths. Screw them onto the bottom to form a base.
