3" base coat brush by Silver Brush Ltd.(series 9095S)
2" glaze/varnish brush by Silver Brush Ltd. (series 9091S)
Steps:
- Using the 3" brush, base coat the box or trunk with two coats of black paint. Allow the first coat to dry before applying a second coat.
- Apply some metallic copper solution to a piece of copper tooling foil. While the copper solution is wet, apply some patina solution. As the patina solution dries it will create a verdigris effect. Allow the copper to dry completely.
- Measure and use scissors or a mat knife to cut the copper into squares.
- Measure the box or trunk with a center point and mark with a pencil.
- Apply thick craft glue to the back of the copper foil and adhere it to the box or trunk. To ensure good contact, roll over the copper foil with a rubber brayer.
- Remove any excess glue with a damp kitchen sponge. Allow the glue to dry overnight.
- Finish the trunk or box by applying several coats of gloss sealer with the 2" brush.
