Materials:
yellow latex satin base coat (BM#206)
rollers/covers
imitation chamois
staple gun
Sunfade glaze for top coat
straightedge
utility knife
paper towels
Steps:
1. Create a rag roller by cutting the chamois cloth into nine four-inch squares . Staple three to the roller in a row. Repeat until covered, alternating the direction of each row to make random impressions (figure A). Dampen it a bit with your hands before using it so it doesn't get over saturated with paint, and then set it aside.
2. Use a plain roller cover to roll the glaze top coat on an area about three or four feet out from the corner.
3. Once the area is rolled out, immediately follow with the dampened rag roller . Start along the wet edge to soften it first, rolling in every direction. Then move across the glazed area, making sure to put imprints everywhere as evenly as possible . When that's complete, roll the chamois cover over paper towels to remove excess glaze so it's ready to use again.
4. Roll another area of fresh glaze, trying not to overlap the first wet edge too much. Continue in the same fashion as above until the wall is complete.
