Materials:
unfinished side table
grass cloth
pencil
acrylic paint (light and dark brown, black)
artist's brushes
staple gun/staples or spray adhesive
Steps :
- Remove top from table base. Cut grass cloth three inches wider than the top on all sides.
- Paint base and legs black or dark brown.
- Draw large giraffe spots on grass cloth with a pencil. Paint inside the spots with light brown paint; let dry. Add definition to some with dark brown; let dry (figure A).
- Turn grass cloth face down on a work surface. Center tabletop on it and pull grass cloth to underside. Use spray adhesive or staples to secure.
- Reattach tabletop to legs.
