Annette O'Brien is a faux artist who works magic on floor tops. O'Brien demonstrates how to create a faux tile floor using a light paint, a dark paint, and a combo of the two colors. She begins by painting the floor with a white base coat, then lightly sponges black paint on the white to simulate grout. O'Brien makes the "tiles" by taping off square shapes on the floor. The tape represents the grout line and the squares represent the tiles. She paints the center of the square with the lightest color, the area around it with the combination color, and the rest of the square with the darkest color. She blends the color a bit using a sponge. Once the paint dries, she removes the tape to reveal the "grout" and it's finished.
