Wood Graining Technique

Materials:

wooden table or other object
base color
antiquing glaze
foam brush
wood graining tool

Steps:
  1. Apply the base coat to the table, and let it dry.
  2. With a foam brush, apply a generous coat of antiquing glaze to the table. Don't worry about working quickly. The glaze dries slowly, so mistakes can be simply brushed out.
  3. Run the wood graining tool across the surface until the finish looks pleasing, and let it dry.
  4. Apply a final coat of varnish, if desired.
