Cindy Piccoli demonstrates how easy it is to create faux marble accessories for the home.

Steps:

  1. Choose a plaster column or candleholder; these aren't heavy like concrete but will look just like marble when completed.
  2. Protect the area in which you will be working, as the spray paint and marbling finish tend to overspray. Wear protective clothing, gloves, and work in a well ventilated area.
  3. Place the plaster piece on the protected work surface and spray on the basecoat color. Allow to dry.
  4. Shake the can of marbling spray for about 10 seconds. This product is similar to spray string, so hold the can about 18 inches away and use a back-and-forth motion for a natural look. When you are satisfied with the amount of marbling on the object, allow it to dry before giving it a protective coat of varnish.
