Silver-Leaf Seashells

Steps:

1. Clean shells if necessary. Soak them in a mixture of bleach and water for about six to eight hours, then scrub with a stiff brush and rinse.
2. Paint the seashell with quick-drying size. Wait an hour or two for it to get tacky .
3. Cut the leaf to make it easier to work with. Gently pick up a sheet with a brush .
4. Position the leaf of the surface of the shell and dab into place with the brush . Overlap the next piece slightly. Let it dry for several hours. Brush away any excess particles of leaf.

For another look, rub silver leafing wax on, wait for it to dry, and then buff .

Shell tips:

• Display them in a decorative bowl.
• Use flat shells to hold votive candles.
• Fill conch shells with wax to make a candle.
• Put rings, necklaces, earrings, etc. in them.
