Materials:

wooden furniture painted a flat color such as black or slate gray
glue stick with sponge applicator tip
Hot Potatoes stamps in bold designs
metallic leaf in gold, silver, copper*
very soft brush
clear latex finish
* Available in sheets from art supply stores or craft and hobby stores.

Steps:
  1. Coat the rubber stamp with glue. Then firmly stamp the furniture.
  2. Place a sheet or pieces of metallic leaf over the stamped area, and gently brush over the top. The leaf will stick to the glue and reveal the design on the stamp.
  3. Repeat the process as desired. Use a variety of stamps and colors of metallic leaf on the same piece of furniture.
  4. After the glue has completely dried, brush off any excess metallic leaf.
  5. Protect the furniture with a coat of clear latex finish.
