Note: Follow manufacturer's directions for use of Easy Gild Tool.
Steps:
- Use scissors to trim around the chosen design, leaving at least one-quarter inch around it .
- Remove paper backing and carefully place the design, adhesive side down, onto right side of fabric. Secure the design to the surface by taping one corner using removable tape.
- Place the tool onto the design. Gently rub back and forth, burnishing the adhesive onto the surface. Before removing the backing, lift up a corner to see if the image is completely transferred. If not, lay it back down and continue to rub.
- Use scissors to cut a piece of Easy Gild Foil a little larger than the adhesive design. Place foil on top of the design, shiny side up. Smooth gently with fingers (the design will show through).
- Burnish the foil with the Easy Gild Tool by making single strokes from top of the design toward bottom. Apply gentle, even pressure.
- Remove foil. If there are any skips, place the foil over the area, burnish lightly and remove. The more the guilded design is touched and rubbed with fingers, the more it will shine.
Finished piece can be hand-washed in Woolite.
