Figure B
Host Renai Ellison shows how to create a terrific looking faux-stone wall finish with thick paper tiles.

Materials:

paper tiles (they come in a variety of sizes and colors)
utility knife
hot-glue gun
paint
stencils
masking tape
stencil brush
glue sticks
paintbrushes

Steps:

  1. Choose the size and color of paper tiles that fit your design. We used the large tiles in a worn brick color.

  2. Working from the middle of your area, place the tiles side by side. If you need to cut a piece to size, do this with a utility knife on a nonskid surface. Make several passes to score the tile, then snap off the excess.

  3. Use a glue gun to adhere the tiles to the wall.

  4. Adhere the stencil to the tile with masking tape or painters tape.

  5. Paint in the stencil with your choice of color and a stencil brush (figure A).

  6. If you want to overlay another stencil onto the stencil you just painted (figure B), let it dry first.
