Host Renai Ellison shows how easy it is to give new life to old home accessories by covering them with handmade papers.
Materials:
art paper
scissors
frame or tabletop
primer
decoupage medium
sponge brush
craft knife
kraft paper
glue or double-sided tape
Steps:
- Cut out art paper to fit the frame or tabletop. Be sure to notch the corners of the paper.
- Apply a coat of primer to the tabletop.
- Apply decoupage medium and stick the paper to the frame or tabletop. For a frame, use a craft knife to cut out the center of the frame (figure A). Make sure the paper is smooth.
- Curl the edges of the paper (figure B) around the frame or tabletop and stick paper to the sides.
- Cut small pieces of kraft paper and use glue or double-sided tape to attach them in the desired pattern on a frame or tabletop (figure C). Coat with decoupage medium.
