(see photo at right).
Materials:
ceramic tiles
tracing paper
pencil
chalk
colored art papers
scissors
white craft glue
craft knife
acrylic sealer
Steps:
- Lay tiles out as desired.
- Trace the design of your choice on tracing paper that fits the tiles (figure A).
- Apply chalk to the back of the paper, then lay it over the colored art paper and trace the design with a pencil. The chalk will transfer to the colored paper.
- Cut designs out of colored paper (figure B).
- Lay out design elements over the tiles (figure C).
- Apply glue to back of paper elements and stick them to the tiles (figure D) .
- Layer some elements over others for a more realistic look. Let dry.
- Use a craft knife to cut along edges of tile so that paper design is separated onto the various tile blocks.
- Spray with acrylic sealer.
