Materials:
clear glass bowl
bond paper designs (fruit, flowers, etc.)
water tray
craft glue (not decoupage medium)
gold glitter nail polish
gold paint pen
gold latex paint
sponge brush
paper cup
scissors
paper towels
Steps :
1. Cut chosen designs and make one or two discreet cuts within the design on each piece, which will help the paper bend/conform to the bowl.
2. Apply a generous amount of craft glue to the underside of the bowl. Place designs face down on the bottom of the bowl; turn bowl over and look for air pockets. Remove them while leaving as much glue as possible on the bowl because it helps the paper curve easier. Repeat until bowl is covered and trim excess paper from edges.
3. Clean the interior of the bowl to see the design more clearly. Continue removing air pockets (as the paper gets wet, it starts curving and taking the shape of the bowl). Leave excess glue on the bowl to use as part of the design (it will look etched when dry).
4. Place bowl face down on top of an inverted paper cup and let designs/glue dry .
5. Smear nail polish over bottom surface of bowl and rub slightly with a paper towel. While wet, use a gold paint pen (shake well before using) to enhance exposed glass areas. Quickly dab surface with a paper towel to soften lines.
6. Brush a coat of paint over the bottom of the bowl. Once dry, apply a second coat.
