Materials:

printed fabric for the curtains*
color copies of the fabric
scissors
decoupage glue

* Select fabric that has a pattern with a recurring, colorful pattern with individual shapes to cut out.

Steps:

  1. Decide which pieces of the molding around the window will be accentuated.
  2. Take the fabric to a copy store and make several color copies of the pattern from the fabric.
  3. Cut out the images from the color paper.
  4. Hang the curtain so that it does not cover the pieces of molding that will be highlighted.
  5. Decoupage the images onto the molding. To produce a three-dimensional effect, let some pieces protrude from the molding.

Tip: This same technique may be used on baseboards and crown molding, or around the tub in the bathroom.
