Crackling Trim

Materials:

latex satin paint for base and top coat
crackle medium

Steps:

1. When using the crackle technique, consider the base and top coat colors. Many times the top coat is subtler and the base is bold and bright to be seen through the cracks. Apply base coat and allow to dry.
2. Brush crackle medium onto the trim and cover all areas well. Allow it to dry for 10 minutes, and then quickly add the top coat in one stroke of paint (be sure to load up the brush and do not back brush). If you wait too long, recoat the crackle . The effect will begin immediately.
