Figure A
Whether decorating with an Adirondack accent, Native American theme or the lodge look, wool blankets used to be the only fabric for covering pillows and chairs. Many of these designs are now available by the yard.
  • Woolen blanket fabrics and blends--whether red and black buffalo check, rust, palomino or timber-mountain-- have become the "fabric of America." The lodge look is rustic, inviting and relaxing plus it relates to the outdoors whether with a pinecone, leaf, tree or animal design.
  • Nothing lasts as long as wool and reversible fabrics backed with a sherpa pile are as warm and soft as they are strong (figure A).

Figure B
  • One of the hottest trends is furniture covered in the timeless designs of Native American cultures. It's a bold look that livens up the decor with geometrical patterns and shapes (figure B).

    Figure C
  • Wool has the ability to retain high color saturation over time and because it's such a rugged fabric, wool will keep its brilliance for years.
  • Sew pieces of old woolen blankets together to make pillows accented with buttons or hang a blanket with curtain clips for a warm window treatment (figure C).
  • Quilt Pillow
