Pet Bed

Provide a comfortable sleeping basket for your favorite pet that coordinates with the rest of a room's decor.

Materials:

wicker laundry basket
white spray paint
masking tape
1/2" artist brush
latex enamel paint
craft glue
foam brush
batting
fabric
staple gun
trim
hot glue gun/glue
down cushion

Steps:

1. Spray paint wicker basket and let dry.
2. Tape-off stripes inside and out. Paint the exposed wicker with enamel by brushing away from the tape to ensure it doesn't run under the edge (stipple the paint into the crevices). Let dry and remove tape.
3. Cover outer rim of basket with craft glue and cover with batting.
4. Cut silk about four inches wide and long enough to fit around the basket rim . Fold silk in half and staple it taut over the batting under the rim. Hot-glue trim over the staples.
5. Cover cushion with coordinating fabric and place inside the basket.
