Decorators say using fabric as art is a very smart idea. Paintings aren't passe, but beautiful fabrics are taking the place of traditional works of art today:
  • Fabric provides an element of softness and depth so unlike traditional art--it's going to billow and move as you do in the space.
  • Take advantage of the repeating pattern of a fabric's design and frame portions of it separately (figure A).
  • Designers are hanging fabrics and tapestries from curtain rods with beautiful complementary finials for an additional decorative accent.
  • Display mannequins dressed in beautiful clothing to add color and spark interesting conversations.
