Steps:
Desk Blotter
- Cut the corner off of some handkerchiefs.
- Mix equal parts glue with warm water to make a milky decoupage paste.
- Brush some paste on the edge of the blotter and place a handkerchief piece on top. Saturate the fabric with more of the mixture and fold the edge over to the back . Repeat until satisfied with border design.
- Arrange trim along the edges as desired and glue each end to the back so letters and notes can be tucked underneath. Let dry overnight.
Lampshade
- Repeat decoupage process as above with handkerchiefs.
- Glue trim around the edges as a finishing touch.
Glove Letter Holder
- Tightly stuff the glove with cotton balls (use a pencil to push them into the fingers).
- Dip glove into the decoupage paste until saturated. Wring excess out and place a small bottle or container into the glove to keep the end open.Lay it flat until dry, and then stand it up to hold letters between the fingers.
Pencil Holder
- Add a decorative handkerchief corner to a teacup as above.
- Hot-glue a flower frog inside the cup to use as a pencil holder.
Fixative
- Mix equal parts shellac and alcohol in a spray bottle.
- Once all accessories are dry, spray them for protection.
