Keep the wind from blowing outdoor tablecloths away with tied corners and make a pillow to match.
Materials:

outdoor canvas fabric (striped and coordinating solid)
16" pillow form
straightedge
regular thread
denim needle
zipper
iron
twill tie or grosgrain ribbon
scissors

Pillow

Steps:

1. Cut a piece of fabric 8" x 40" making sure the center is in the center of a stripe. Cut the strip into four 45-degree triangles and arrange them into a square to form the pillow front.

2. Place two of the pieces on top of the other two and sew each together with a 1/2-inch seam allowance. Put right sides of the two halves together and sew as above . Open and press seams.

3. Cut backing fabric to the size of the front piece and attach zipper.

4. Place front and back right sides together and sew around the edges (leave an opening to insert the pillow form). Once full, sew the opening closed.

Tablecloth

Steps:

1. Cut a piece of fabric to the size of the tabletop plus 1/2 inch on each side for the seam allowance. Cut four pieces for the sides to the necessary width and desired drop length allowing for hems and seam allowances; sew hems, and then attach them to the top piece. Open and press seams.

2. Cut four squares of the solid fabric to the size of the open areas on the outer corners. Cut two pieces of twill tie or ribbon for each corner.

3. Place a piece of tie/ribbon between the right sides of a corner piece and side piece. Sew in place just up to the seam allowance (do not sew all the way through to the end). Put the other piece of tie/ribbon in place and repeat to complete the corner. Repeat for each corner.

4. Flip the cloth over and tie the corners together.
