Materials:

coordinating fabric (2 pieces)
tassels
fabric glue
flat buttons
needle
thread

Steps:

  1. Depending on the table size, cut strips four inches wide and long enough to extend about six inches over sides.
  2. To create a point on each end of fabric, turn fabric under and use fabric glue or sew it in place. Use pins while glue is drying (figure A).
  3. Add a tassel to each point by stitching in place with needle and thread or fabric glue.
  4. Lay fabric strips out and put one over the other to create a woven effect (figure B).
  5. Sew or glue pieces together where they cross and embellish with flat buttons, which can also be glued or sewn.
