Materials:
purchased tablecloth (either square or oblong)
fabric paints
stencils
stencil brushes
spray adhesive
paper plates
paper towels
Steps:
- Measure the tablecloth and find the center.
- Determine the size of the central checkerboard area.
- Spray the back of the stencil with spray adhesive and let dry just a moment.
- Position stencil along the center line. Stencil one quarter of the area using fabric paints and following the directions provided with the stencil.
- Move to the next quarter and continue around until the space is complete.
- Next, measure for the border repeat, spacing the design so that the motif is angled into each corner and the borders meet. Raise the design up from the bottom edge a bit to make it work if needed.
- Follow the directions on the paint for heat setting.
