Dishtowels

Materials:

19" x 28" woven dishtowel
three 4", 6" or 8" fabric and Battenberg or crochet doilies
1/8 yard of 45" coordinating fabric
1/4 yard of fusible web
matching thread
iron-on liquid fusible - optional

Steps:

  1. Cut a 4-1/2" x 20" piece of fabric. Cut enough fusible web to equal 4" x 20". Center and apply the fusible web to the wrong side of the fabric following manufacturer's instructions.
  2. Fold and press both long edges of the fabric under 1/4". Remove the paper backing and position the fabric on the dishtowel. Doilies may be cut in half and positioned under the edge of the fabric as desired. Fuse the fabric border to the dishtowel.
  3. Machine stitch along the folded edge of the border through all thicknesses.
  4. Fuse or sew the doilies to the towel or on top of the border as desired.
