If an ottoman's original slipcover doesn't match your decor, see how to use it as a template for a different custom cover.
Materials:

measuring tape
fabric
iron
sewing machine
thread

Steps:

1. If available, use the original slipcovers as a template. After taking measurements, add extra for seams. Once the four side panels and top are cut out, sew the side panels together to form a tube. Leave 1/2 inch open at the top of each, which will help when the top is sewn on.
2. If desired, reinforce the side seams by cutting down one side of the seam allowance. Fold the other side in half and pin it down flat. Stitch along the edge of the fold to create a seam that's twice as sturdy.
3. Turn the sides inside out and pin the top to all four sides. Stitch all the way around and reinforce the seams as above if desired.
4. Fold and iron the bottom hem, and then stitch it in place.
