Materials:
transfer fabric crayons
plain white paper
smooth synthetic fabric (50% polyester / 50% cotton or linen)
iron
scrap drawing paper
pencil
thick batting
Steps :
- Work out a design on scrap paper. Firmly draw it with transfer crayons on white paper. Blow or brush off any specks of crayons as they will show.
- Put batting on ironing board or floor and put a piece of paper on top. Lay the fabric over the paper and line the drawing up with the paper below (crayon side down ).
- Use a hot iron with no steam to firmly and carefully go over the entire design until it shows through the top piece of paper.
- Repeat with a fresh drawing for each design until fabric is printed as desired . Use the fabric for curtains, upholstery, etc.
Tips:
- Layer drawings or designs using various colors.
- For lighter images, use the same drawing two or three times.
