Video: This brand new slipcover completely changes the look of the old red plaid material underneath.
Steps:
  1. Measure the item to be covered several times and make a drawing of each piece to be cut out, along with its measurements.

  • Cut the shapes out of inexpensive muslin fabric and pin together (figure A ). Once satisfied, mark along the seams (figure B) and use them as patterns to cut out the real pieces.
  • If a piece of furniture is wider at the top than the bottom, leave open seams in the back to allow a cover to slip over the top. Tie seams with bows, use Velcro or add a zipper.

  • Double two-inch brush fringe for the cushion edges (figure C). This is also wonderful on pillows.
