Use flags sewn along cording as artwork in a kid's room. It's timeless and adds instant interest to the walls.
Materials:

several coordinating fabric patterns
scrap paper
pinking sheers
cording
finish nails
hammer

Steps:

1. Use scrap paper to create a triangular-shaped template. Put the top edge of the triangle against the fold of the fabrics and trace around it. Cut them out using pinking sheers to create diamond-shaped pieces.
2. Place the flags along the cording in the desired order and pin around all the edges to hold them in place. Sew around each flag (go right over the cording) to keep them in position.
3. Use a finish nail to hold each end of the cording in place on the wall.
